Studying: BSc Food Science & Nutrition
- I speak: English, Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesian
I’m Nadia and I am currently in my second year studying Food Science and Nutrition. With the School of Food Science and Nutrition ranked first in the ‘Sunday Times University Guide’ and second in ‘The Times Good University Guide’, Leeds was a clear choice for me to pursue a world class degree. The best thing about my course is being able to do fun lab practicals such as making yogurt and bread!
I had never been to Leeds prior to studying here and I remember the first time I laid eyes on this beautiful city, I fell in love instantly. It was the perfect city in many aspects - not only was it a thriving cultural city with beautiful architecture but just a short drive away from the Yorkshire dales and North Yorkshire moors with stunning and breath-taking sceneries. And also - how could I forget to mention - Leeds is very student friendly!
In my spare time, I love to spend the afternoon in one of the many independent cafes around Leeds with a good book for a lazy read. Friends would describe me as having an incurable case of wanderlust so it is not unusual for me to take lots of day trips around Yorkshire dales or short trips to Europe! My goal is to visit all the European countries before I graduate!
I currently live in a privately rented house with 3 friends. I love how homey the house feels after coming home from a tiring day of class. We cook together, watch movies and talk about our days. Being far away from home, I feel really blessed to have housemates as close as family here!
