New Home Office customer service standards
The Home Office has provided information about new service standards, which will apply to immigration applications made in the UK on or after 1 January 2014.
Tier 4 applications will now be processed within 8 weeks from the date that the application is received by the Home Office. If an application contains an error or omission (other than one that would cause the application to be returned as invalid), the Home Office will write to you requesting the additional information and will provide a deadline to respond.
Should the application be complex, the Home Office will wite to you to within the 8 week period to explain why the application will not be processed within the normal time frame and what will happen next.
